When & Why to Use This Skill

This Claude skill streamlines Personal Knowledge Management (PKM) by automating Obsidian daily notes. It allows users to instantly create, read, or append content to their journals using standard periodic notes conventions. By integrating with the Obsidian MCP server, it enables seamless logging of thoughts, tasks, and meeting notes directly through Claude, ensuring your digital garden stays updated without manual file navigation.

Use Cases

  • Instant Journaling: Quickly append thoughts, reflections, or 'interstitial journaling' entries to your daily note throughout the day without leaving the chat interface.
  • Meeting & Task Logging: Automatically log meeting minutes or update task lists in your daily planner using predefined templates and specific section targeting.
  • Context Retrieval: Effortlessly read today's or recent daily notes to provide Claude with the necessary context for summarizing your progress or planning upcoming tasks.
  • Automated Note Creation: Ensure your daily structure is ready every morning by having Claude generate today's note with correct frontmatter and folder paths based on your vault's configuration.
